The Problem

TARDINESS AND ABSENTEEISM 

With  a lot of appended duties  of  teachers,reports on attendance  do not reach the administration office earlier. Hence,  interventions are not done  in the earliest oppurtune time.

In the past year, almost 10 learners are late everyday and 5 learners are chronically absent in a class especially in the Senior High School which results to  loss of significant  instructional time, hence having a negative consequence  in the academic performance .

The Context

The School caters to learners who are mostly from the City of Baguio.  Our students are from the surrounding barangays  within Baguio City. About 15%  of the whole population  resides outside of Baguio like La Trinidad, Benguet.

Most of our parents are minimum wage earners  who do their best to make ends meet.

Stakeholders Pain Points

LEARNERS

Waking up late, lack  of interest, peer influence, establishing the habit of  waking up early and getting perfect attendance, no budget, mental health problems

TEACHERS

Appended Duties, overlapping reports on top of   actual teaching hours

Uncooperative parents and learners

PARENTS

Too busy to guide  their children/ ward, Children do not listen to their parents

Lack of budget  and  getting the parents to cooperate

The Solution

 

PRIME AIR  lessens the time consumed by teachers in doing their SF2.  School administration can also  have the data immediately.

With the data generated through PRIME AIR,  the provision of appropriate interventions   which include   Connecting with the learner and the parents, Student Attendance Success Plan,  Attendance Awareness Month, Videos on Attendance Impact   and   Flyers on “ Attendance Works”. Upon connecting ,  Tiered Support System.

Challenges

  • Provision of technical assistance to colleagues.
  • Cooperation of parents and learners is also a challenge in the implementation of the  Project Innovation.
  • Devotion of Time of partners for the Project and Financial Resource.

Needed Resources

  • Laptop with at least laptop with a storage capacity of at least 512GB  and atleast Core 13 Processor  allowing the handling of multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • We also need volunteer PTA and LGU, SSLG and other partners who can who can help us in   the implementation of the  intervention  Program

Monitoring & Evaluation

Progress of the Project Innovation  will be monitored through a monitoring tool on the  updating of PRIME AIR and the learners subjected to intervention.

During the School Monitoring Evaluation and Adjustment which is done quarterly, the progress of the project will also be monitored and evaluated.

Success of the Program is measured  through early/timely submission of SF2,  increased  daily average attendance and less tardiness.
